President Donald Trump honored the late “Dilbert” cartoonist Scott Adams on Sunday at a memorial service for the artist who died earlier that month from metastatic prostate cancer.
During his live-streamed tribute, Trump stated: “The world lost a great one this month when we lost Scott Adams. There was nobody like him. But Heaven gained a good heart, a brilliant mind and a very brave soul.”
Trump’s presence at the service countered efforts by liberal media outlets to diminish Adams’ legacy after he refused to adopt prevailing political narratives.
Speaking about their friendship, Trump emphasized: “I will never forget that Scott was with me from the very beginning. And he was a loyal and true friend to all of us until the very end.”
Adams’ final message to his audience included a call for practical contribution: “If you got any benefits from my work, I’m asking you to pay it forward as best you can. That’s the legacy I want.”
