Florida Rep. Ashley Viola Gantt Rebrands Charlie Kirk’s Killing as ‘Gun Violence,’ Denies Assassination

Florida Democratic state representative Ashley Viola Gantt made remarks during a chamber debate on Wednesday about legislation to designate October 14 as Charlie Kirk Day of Remembrance in the state.

Gantt stated, “But he was not assassinated, and words being accurate matters. It was a death by gun violence. That is an issue here in the country that we should all be on the same page about addressing.”

The bill passed the Florida House following Gantt’s comments.
