DHS Secretary Mullin Alleges Rep. Ilhan Omar Married Brother in Immigration Fraud

DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin stated Thursday that a Department of Homeland Security investigation into Representative Ilhan Omar could uncover “illegal activity” related to allegations she married her brother to fraudulently enter the United States.

The secretary noted that if immigration fraud is proven, the consequences would include deportation under federal law with no expiration on such penalties. Mullin also indicated that the alleged brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, currently resides in London. This marks a significant shift from previous approaches by officials who have dismissed similar allegations as conspiracy theories or political attacks. The Department of Homeland Security maintains that any investigation remains legitimate and not politically motivated.
